Stallion Profile
QTIS 600 - HERE IS THE PERFECT 2 YEAR OLD SIRE:
CHANGEINTHEWEATHER is a GR1 WINNING 2 YEAR OLD son of GONE WEST, Sire of ELUSIVE QUALITY, Sire of the 2011 GROUP 1 GOLDEN SLIPPER/BLUE DIAMOND double winner, SEPOY.
ELUSIVE QUALITY (68 SW'rs) was GR 2 placed at 3 years and a GR 3 winner at 5 years, and stands at DARLEY in Kentucky in 2011 for $50,000.
CHANGEINTHEWEATHER is the only GR 1 winning son of GONE WEST standing in Australia, and one of the very few stallions standing in Queensland that is a GR 1 WINNING 2 YEAR OLD.
At 2, he won his maiden, in devastating fashion, with equal top weight at Woodbine, by 10 lengths, followed by the GR 1 GREY BREEDERS CUP S by 4 lengths.
USA Champion 2-year-old filly, PLEASANT STAGE is FULL sister to his Dam.
He is the PROVEN Sire of 2-Year-Old winners in Stakes company in the USA.
Though all of his races were on dirt, his progeny race and WIN on Turf; typical of the GONE WEST breed, they are versatile, racing on any surface, and will be well suited to our Australian track and conditions.
GONE WEST stallions are at the top of the Leading Turf Sire List in the U.S.A, and we have no doubt that Changeintherweather progeny will be outstanding gallopers on our Australian tracks, including the new synthetic tracks.
Changeintheweather was the Leading First and Second crop sire in the Mid-Atlantic, encompassing seven American States.
In his Leading Sire Freshman year, he had ELEVEN individual 2 year-old winners from 28 starters, including a Stakes winner, a Stakes placed, and a further 11 individual placegetters.
Only TWO runners did not place from his first season starters....."Seventeen Red" was one of these, and he is now the winner of 3 races for US$52,300.
QTIS 600
This horse is the perfect candidate to deliver the early Two-Year-Old sprinters, that are tough, versatile, and very, very fast..........perfect for the lucrative QTIS 600 money on offer in Queensland.
His progeny in the US commonly demolish their opponents, winning by margins of up to 10 lengths. They win on ALL surfaces in the US and will be well suited to Australian tracks and conditions.
CHANGEINTHEWEATHER has EVERY ingredient necessary in a stallion -
- SPEED,
- RACE PERFORMANCE,
- PEDIGREE and
- LEADING SIRE credentials.
- WINNERS to RUNNERS stats of 73%
With the Champion blood of SECRETARIAT on his sireline, and HIS MAJESTY on his dam line, makes CHANGEINTHEWEATHER an exceptional choice to the variety of broodmare bloodlines available in Australia.
His compatibility matings, matched by Ken McLean, Allan Porter and Jack Werks, include broodmare sires such as Danehill, Dehere, Deputy Minister, Hennesy, Guilded Time, El Prado, Green Dancer, Halo, Nureyev, Tale of the Cat, Stravinski, and the list goes on and on.
GONE WEST lineage is such a prominent blood-line, that it crosses with virtually any line to successfully produce winners.
These are the BEST bloodlines in the US Studbook, which have been so universally successful and influential on every corner of the globe, especially including Australia.
BREAKING NEWS!!!!! SEE NEWS SECTION : CHANGEINTHEWEATHERS' full brother in blood, MARSH SIDE (US$2.36 Million) retires to stud in the USA for the 2011 season.
CHANGEINTHEWEATHER causes flooding in Rockhampton : The 2010 season brought mares flooding to Rockhampton to the outstanding young sire, with astute local breeders recognising how fortunate this Central Queensland region is to have such a quality Sire on its doorstep.
Breeders travelled mares from interstate to tap into his Champion bloodlines for a fraction of the fee commanded by his peers.
Be early for 2011 bookings!!!
Race Career
CHANGEINTHEWEATHER won 2 of his 3 starts as a 2 year old……he devastated his opposition winning his maiden by 10 lengths, and followed up by winning the GROUP 1 Grey Breeders Cup, once again demolishing his opposition by 4 lengths. His jockey commented after the race that he had plenty up his sleeve.
His 3 year old career was to be a preparation for the road to the TRIPLE CROWN, and he was an early 3rd favourite for the pinnacle of American racing , the GROUP 1 KENTUCKY DERBY.
An injury prevented his TRIPLE CROWN hopes, but he came back as a 4 year old to have 7 more starts, including 5 STAKES races, and WON or PLACED in all 7 starts.
